A Roundtable Discussion on Hunting in Wisconsin: Hmong and non-Hmong Perspectives

Over the last number of years there has been a number of minor and more serious conflicts between white and Hmong hunters in the forests of Wisconsin. Most recently, in November 2014, a white hunter seriously injured an elderly Hmong hunter who accidentally walked onto private property in Pepin County, western Wisconsin. The Hmong Studies Consortium organized this event to discuss the tensions associated with Hmong hunting in Wisconsin, and the impression that many Hmong people have that conflicts are frequently racially motivated.
